Transforming science and technology through the control of quantum systems
Brown Lab Research
Our research uses the control of quantum systems to better understand the natural world and to develop new technologies. The research has two main areas: quantum computation and cold molecular ions. Our quantum computation efforts include the construction of ion trap quantum computers, development of novel quantum control techniques, and the exploration of quantum error correcting codes. Our cold molecular ion work brings the tools of modern atomic physics to bare on fundamental questions in chemistry from the identification of astrochemical species to the study of reactions at microkelvin temperatutes.
Our work is funded by IARPA, ARO, LPS, NSF, and DOE.
