Quantum Information and Computation

Quantum computers promise to solve problems algorithmically faster than conventional computers.  The challenge to building quantum computers is that quantum systems are typically fragile due to noise from the environment and uncertainty in the controls.  The Brown lab works to improve the robustness of quantum computers by developing better hardware, discovering control sequences that reduce errors, and designing quantum error correction codes.
